PGM and one of our fortune 500 customers have had a successful business relationship for many years. This particular customer is a multi-million dollar, global defense and aerospace company with locations around the world. For the past decade, our customer has been working towards integrating their select suppliers to a Certified Supplier program that is granted to companies that meet strict regulations. These regulations are rigorously enforced and demand re-evaluation every two years. When the program was first started in 2003, PGM was the only certified machining supplier selected. PGM values the Preferred Supplier status because it enables us to stand out above other competitors, while providing our customer with an extremely competitive system that is an extension of their manufacturing.
The main goal of the preferred supplier certification is to focus on key areas of improvement that will enable reduction in lead times, process variability, and production costs. This program brings the best value to the end user while providing benefits to our customer and PGM.
In order to keep our preferred status, PGM must be re-evaluated every two years. PGM was re-certified September 26, 2008. PGM would like to thank our customer and associates for all the hard work in making this relationship the best it can be for many years to come.
